Bungee Jumping from the Crooked River High Bridge, in Oregon

I had done bungee jumping in Brazil before, but it was not that big of a fall from just a crane. So, this time I could have a much more exciting experience: I could jump from the old bridge over the canyon of the Crooked River, in Eastern Oregon. From the bridge to the (very shallow) waters of the creek it is a fall of approximately 300 feet (a little bit above 90 meters), with a relatively long free fall in a beautiful natural scenery. Today, I had the opportunity of doing not one but two jumps from that bridge! I will not lie: standing at the platform with a whole lot of nothing in front of you, it is very hard to give the first step. But once you give the first step... there is no coming back. You just keep falling faster than you could ever imagine and longer than it actually is, until the elastic cord ricochets you back up, and going down again, and you bounce like that, until you see yourself basically sitting on your harness with still a whole lot of nothing underneath you. When I was brought back up, the crew told me that unfortunately one of their cameras was without battery, so they very nicely offered me a second jump! This time I jumped backwards, which requires a little less courage, and once again it was an exhilarating experience. Believe me: I was very scared once I was on the platform about to jump, and nevertheless I did it, and so can you, and you will have a once in a lifetime experience. If you want to do it, I highly recommend Oregon Bungee: their crew was super nice and everything felt very safe (no, I wasn't paid to say this). I hope you all give it a try!
